Super Eagles duo Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey will play under new management next season following Fulham’s appointment of former Real Madrid head coach Alvaro Arbeloa, Footynaija.com reports.
The 43-year-old Spanish tactician, who joins the Cottagers on a three-year deal that ties him to Craven Cottage until the summer of 2029, comes in as replacement for Marco Silva who departed Fulham for Liga Portugal giants Benfica after seeing out his contract at the West London club.
Speaking after his appointment, Arbeloa shared his excitement about taking charge of one of the most historic clubs in the Premier League.

“It is a real honour for me to be embarking on this new stage at Fulham, the oldest club in London,” the former defender told Fulham’s official website.
“I feel a great sense of responsibility and I’m deeply grateful to Mr [Shahid] Khan and Tony Khan for the trust they have placed in me with Fulham in the Premier League.
“I am really looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere at Craven Cottage with Fulham fans and beginning pre-season with the players next week. I am sure we are going to enjoy an incredible journey together.
“Come on Fulham!”

After spending several years developing young talents in Real Madrid’s academy setup and then coaching Los Blancos’ first team on an interim basis last season, Arbeloa now takes on his first senior managerial role in English football.
The former Spain international inherits a Fulham side that enjoyed a solid Premier League campaign last season and will be expected to build on that foundation, with Super Eagles stars Bassey and Iwobi likely to play key roles in the early stages of his tenure.
