Eight young Nigerian players have completed trials with Queens Park Rangers in London, with one prospect reportedly catching the eye of the Championship club’s staff enough to put a formal offer on the table, Footynaija.com reports.

According to football journalist Dimitris Manakos, the trialists travelled from Nigeria for the assessment, and one player in particular has stood out to QPR’s coaching staff. The standout is said to be a product of the Blackveron academy, having delivered the standout performance for his side in a friendly match the day before the report.

Manakos described a formal offer from QPR to the academy as highly likely at this stage, though the player’s identity has not yet been confirmed publicly.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: EIGHT players from Nigeria have travelled to England and completed trials with QPR! 🇳🇬✈️🏴

What I’m hearing is that ONE of the boys has already stood out and seriously impressed the club’s staff. 👀⭐

The London-based club has built a reputation in recent seasons for scouting talent from across Africa and beyond, often through trial pathways that bring young players to England in groups before deciding which, if any, earn permanent academy or development squad contracts. The structure mirrors moves the club has made with prospects from other countries, where short trial windows determine whether a deal follows.

Details on the player’s name, position and age remain unconfirmed, with Manakos suggesting more information would follow in the coming days.

The scale of the trial, eight Nigerian players assessed in one window, points to a deliberate scouting push by the Championship club into the Nigerian market.

If the offer materialises, it would add another Nigerian name to the growing list of young talents using England’s lower-league academy system as a launchpad, with the hope of eventually breaking into senior football and, further down the line, the Super Eagles picture.
