Jamaica head coach Rudolph Speid is eagerly anticipating his side’s Unity Cup encounter against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Footynaija.com reports.
Speid guided the Reggae Boyz past India on Wednesday with the likes of Courtney Clarke and Kaheim Dixion each finding the back of the net to guarantee a 2-0 victory and book their place in the final.
Meanwhile, Nigeria secured yet another final appearance in this four-nation invitational tournament by beating Zimbabwe a day before thanks to debuting Millwall forward Femi Azeez’s brace.
The two teams will now face off in a repeat of last year’s final and despite falling short against the Super Eagles that time, Speid insists the Reggae Boyz are relishing the opportunity to clash horns with Eric Chelle’s men.

“It’s always exciting to play against Nigeria; they play exciting football,” he said per quotes revealed by Complete Sport.
“They’re one of the powerhouses in Africa, so it’s always good. We always look forward to playing them.
“Last year was very exciting, this year, I hope we’ll have better results against them. We saw them play [on Tuesday] so we’ll do some more analysis on what they will be doing and then we will decide if we need to change anything.”
Both sides are due to face off later tonight at The Valley Stadium in London. Jamaica will be seeking a first ever win against Nigeria while the Super Eagles’s focus will be on the continuing their dominance over their Caribbean counterparts and of course successfully defending their Unity Cup crown.
