Former Nigeria U-20 coach Paul Aibogun believes KRC GenK winger Collins Sor will be a real asset for the Super Eagles after receiving his first ever invitation to the senior national team ahead of international friendly matches against Jordan and Iran, Footynaija.com reports.
Aibogun knows Sor well from their time together in one of Nigeria’s youth team setups. The former Enyimba and Warri Wolves boss was head coach of the Flying Eagles team that went to the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, a team that Sor featured prominently for as Nigeria reached the quarterfinals.
Seeing one of his former understudies earn an invitation to the Super Eagles, Aibogun could barely hide his delight as he recalled scouting Sor for the U-20s side.
What Paul Aibogun said

“I am really happy for Collins (Sor) as his hard work has finally paid off with this invitation,” he said, per quotes revealed by Footy-Africa.
“He was someone I saw and scouted in Port Harcourt when we were building a team for the Africa U-20 Nations Cup, and since then he has been doing well.
“He is fast, I mean very fast, and can function as a winger and striker. I think he is yet to even fulfil his potential, but I hope he can bring some pace to the national team.
“I think just recently, he was clocked as the fastest player in the Belgian top flight, but he is not just about pace; he has good positional awareness and finishing too. He will definitely be a plus for the Super Eagles, and I am happy for him.”

Sor is currently enjoying his best season in Belgium since arriving at Genk from Slavia Prague in the 2023 winter transfer window, impressing enough to turn the heads of those at the helm of affairs of the Nigeria national team.
The 25-year-old forward will be hoping he gets a chance to show his talents in the colours of the Super Eagles within the next couple of weeks as Nigeria look to reset after their recent failures at the World Cup qualifiers and Africa Cup of Nations.
