Two of England’s bright young prospects have moved closer to the Nigerian national team picture after publicly embracing their roots and expressing interest in future Super Eagles involvement, Footynaija.com reports.

Tyrell Ojugo, a left-footed midfielder from Fulham’s youth setup, has recently expressed interest in representing Nigeria despite his previous eligibility for England. At the same time, Marley Frohock, who plays for Arsenal’s academy sides, also spoke openly about his Nigerian roots while reflecting on his football development and early career.

The Arsenal youngster explained his family roots and revealed how football entered his life, speaking openly about his Nigerian mother and English father with Dutch heritage.

“In terms of my family background, my mum is Nigerian and my Dad is English, with a bit of Dutch heritage too. I got into football through my Dad. He encouraged me to start kicking a ball, and he had played semi professional level himself,” Frohock told Arsenal.com.

The 17-year-old also shared how he transformed from a defender into a forward during his early teenage years.

“I actually played centre back until I was about 12, then I tried playing up front in a game, did well and realised I love scoring goals.”

Ojugo made his intentions known in an interview reported by Legit.ng confirming that Nigeria is the country he aims to represent. He is a talented, left-footed midfielder who has already captained Fulham’s youth teams and is highly rated within the academy setup.

Both players have been monitored by scouts due to their rapid progress. Frohock has impressed across Arsenal’s age grade teams, including goals at Under 16 and Under 18 levels. Ojugo is known for his composure in midfield and ability to play through pressure, qualities that have earned him attention at Motspur Park.
