Nigerian teenager Angelo Agbejoye is currently on trial at Manchester City, one of the Premier League’s most prestigious clubs, Footynaija.com reports.

The 18-year-old forward, who plays for Grassrunners FC in Nigeria, has caught the eye of City’s scouts after a string of impressive performances during trials in Europe earlier this year, according to Africa Foot.

Agbejoye previously trained with Swedish club AIK Stockholm and German side Hannover 96, experiences that helped sharpen his technical and tactical understanding ahead of this latest opportunity.

AIK’s recruitment manager, Fredrik Wisur Hansen, once described him as “a winger who has a nose for goal and good speed,” praising his strong left foot and natural finishing instincts.

It is understood that City’s coaching staff have been impressed by his composure, dribbling and pace during sessions at the club’s training base. The youngster is expected to spend the next few days working with the youth and reserve setups as the club evaluates his potential fit.

If Agbejoye convinces the Manchester City coaches, he could be offered a professional contract, an opportunity that would mark a major breakthrough for the promising Nigerian.

Managed by Borel Moukoko of Spocs Consulting, Agbejoye is widely seen as one of the brightest attacking prospects to emerge from Nigeria in recent years.
