After twice hitting the woodwork early on, Nigeria finally broke through when Ihezuo lobbed home following Abiodun’s precise pass. Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie made a key save before Okoronkwo doubled the lead with a composed finish just before half-time.
Coach Justin Madugu’s side, featuring experienced defender Osinachi Ohale on her 80th cap and debutants Taiwo Afolabi and Joy Omewa, controlled the second half to secure a professional win.
Nigeria will host the return leg in Abeokuta on Monday, October 28, with a place at Morocco 2026 within reach.
