Victor Osimhen says Galatasaray are ready to fight their way through a daunting Champions League league phase after being paired with Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City, Footynaija.com reports.

The Turkish champions will also face Eintracht Frankfurt, Ajax, Monaco, Bodø/Glimt and Union Saint-Gilloise in what many see as one of the toughest groups on paper.

Osimhen, who made his move to Galatasaray permanent this summer after a record-breaking loan spell, is already carrying the form that saw him score 37 goals and provide eight assists last season. He found the net again at the weekend, helping his side to a 3-1 victory over Rizespor at Rams Park.

Speaking after the game, the Nigeria striker admitted the scale of the challenge but insisted the squad has the belief and quality to compete.

“It’s a tough draw, you could say. We want to compete in every competition we play. We want to reach the final in every competition. This club sets its own standards,” Osimhen told Galatasaray’s official website.

The 26-year-old emphasised the team’s determination: “We need to work hard and fight hard. Looking at the quality of our players and our coach. I truly believe we can succeed.”

Osimhen, who powered Galatasaray to a domestic double last season, believes the club is moving in the right direction. “We’re heading in the right direction. We’ll do everything we can to achieve these goals and achieve what we want,” he said.

With club duties set aside for now, the forward will join up with Nigeria’s squad for World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Rwanda. Osimhen is part of the 23-man team tasked with reigniting the Super Eagles’ hopes of reaching the 2026 tournament.
