Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has declared that he has no plans to venture into the realm of coaching when he eventually draws the curtains on his professional football career, Footynaija.com reports.

Although Boniface is still a long time away from retirement, being only 24 years old, the Nigeria international appears to already have a clear vision about what role he will or will not be taking up when he hangs his boots.

While he admitted, during an appearance on The Culture League podcast, that he would need some time to ponder exactly what his future endeavours after football would be, Boniface went on to rule out two possibilities, emphasizing that he would not be able to handle “the stress” involved.

“The day I stop, I’ll take a one-year break to think about it,” the Bayer Leverkusen striker told The Culture League podcast.

“But to answer right now, I’ve said it before that I don’t think I can own a football academy. If someone owns an academy, I can sponsor and invest in it.

“For me though, it will be a lot of stress and I don’t think I can take that stress. Also, rather than becoming a coach, I’ll prefer being a sporting director or scout.”

Super Eagles midfield duo Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka also appeared on the show alongside Boniface. Both players, just like Boniface, ruled out the possibility of venturing into the coaching line when they call time on their respective careers.

Instead, the experienced midfield duo echoed a preference for handling the business aspect of the sport, as well as the development and provision of opportunities for upcoming talents in Nigeria and Africa at large.
