AS Roma have confirmed the signing of Nigerian international Rinsola Babajide as announced on Monday, Footynaija.com reports.
The Super Falcons forward has joined the Italian giants on a three-year contract following her departure from Spanish side Costa Adeje Tenerife.
The 27-year-old winger brings an exciting blend of pace, flair and international pedigree to the Giallorosse, who are looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of a new Serie A Femminile campaign and a European challenge in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Speaking to Roma’s official channels, Babajide couldn’t hide her delight: “It’s an honour, to be honest. It’s a Champions League club, a prestigious club as well, so I’m very happy to be here.” She added that Italy’s top division holds a familiar appeal: “I feel like it’s similar to the Spanish league—technical, competitive—and I can’t wait to get started.”
Babajide, who previously featured for clubs like Liverpool and Brighton in England before moving to Spain, also shared her ambitions for the season: “Winning silverware—that’s the most important thing. Personally, I want to contribute as much as I can and do better than last season.”
Describing herself as a direct, technical winger who thrives in one-on-one situations, Babajide joins compatriot and fellow Super Falcons player Shukurat Oladipo at Roma.
Both players are currently representing Nigeria at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, with Babajide already on the scoresheet after netting against Tunisia in her WAFCON debut.
