Three Super Eagles strikers — Victor Osimhen, Tolu Arokodare and Cyriel Dessers — are all in contention to finish the 2024/25 season as top scorers in their respective European leagues, capping off a remarkable year for Nigerian forwards abroad, Footynaija.com reports.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, is leading the Turkish Super Lig scoring chart with 24 goals in 28 matches.
The 26-year-old striker has outpaced Istanbul Basaksehir’s Krzysztof Piątek (21 goals in 31 games) and Trabzonspor’s Simon Banza (19 in 29), putting him in pole position for the Golden Boot with three league fixtures remaining.

Osimhen and Galatasaray will clinch the Super Lig title with a win at home to Kayserispor on Sunday. Across all competitions, Osimhen has racked up an impressive 35 goals in 38 appearances.
Meanwhile, in Belgium, Arokodare has been prolific for KRC Genk.
The 24-year-old forward has 20 league goals to his name — 17 in the regular season and three more in the playoffs — and is neck-and-neck with Sint-Truidense’s Adriano Bertaccini in the Belgian Pro League top scorer race.
Despite Genk falling out of the title hunt, Arokodare has two matches left to seal the honour.
No surprise Victor Osimhen has been the most prolific African striker in Europe this season.

In Scotland, Glasgow Rangers forward Dessers has fired himself to the top of the scoring chart with 17 league goals.
The former Feyenoord star sits just ahead of Celtic’s Daizen Maeda and Dundee’s Simon Murray (16 each) heading into the final round of matches. Overall, Dessers has scored 28 goals in 54 games this season.
With the curtain set to fall on the 2024/25 campaign, all three Nigerian stars are closing in on individual honours — and a place in Europe’s scoring elite.
