Spanish giants Atletico Madrid Femenino have announced that Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade will leave the club at the end of the season, drawing the curtain on a four-year stay with the Liga F side, Footynaija.com reports.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international is set to say her goodbyes to the Atlético faithful on Sunday, following confirmation from the club that she, alongside Marta Cardona, Ainhoa Moraza, and Merle Barth, will depart after the season finale.

“Our players Cardona, Ajibade, Moraza, and Barth will not continue as Red and White next season and will bid farewell to the fans on Sunday at Alcalá,” the club wrote on X.

Ajibade joined Atlético in 2021 from Norwegian side Avaldsnes, having previously risen through the ranks at Nigeria Women Football League outfit Robo Queens.

Since arriving in Spain, she has become a key figure in the Atlético squad, known for her pace, flair, and clinical finishing.

Over four seasons, the Nigerian forward made 138 appearances for the club, scoring 41 goals and playing a major role in their UEFA Women’s Champions League campaigns. She also helped the side lift the Supercopa de España in 2021 and the Copa de la Reina in 2023.

Ajibade’s contract expires this summer, and both parties have mutually agreed to part ways.

With her departure now official, all eyes will be on where the Super Falcons captain heads next.
