“We also have quality players” – Zimbabwe’s Munetsi relishing Uyo test against Super Eagles

Zimbabwe national team captain Marshall Munetsi is fancying the chance to make history when they take on the Super Eagles in a World Cup qualifying match at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Footynaija.com reports.

The Warriors, who currently sit bottom of group C with three points from five games, will be the underdogs heading into Tuesday’s game against a star-studded Super Eagles squad.

Nigeria are now fourth on the standings after their win over Rwanda and the West African giants, who boast some of Europe’s biggest stars on their roster, will now look to follow up last week’s triumph in Kigali with another on their home turf.

Despite the obviously enormous gap in quality between the two sides, Zimbabwe skipper Munetsi has expressed confidence in the ability of his teammates, backing the Warriors to hold their own against the heavily stacked Super Eagles.

“We look at Nigeria on the attacking side, we also do have a very strong side,” Munetsi said as per Cosmos Chukwuemeka.

“So it’s not only about the guys that are up front. But for us, we are always up for the challenge.

“History is always meant to be made, so in any case we will always play our hearts out and whatever comes out will come out.

“We also have quality players who can be able to handle certain situations and with the right experience. But for us above all we will not respect Nigeria.

“It’s not to just come here and be a fan but we’ll take it as a more serious game and try to get some maximum points.”

It promises to be an enthralling encounter in Uyo as both Nigeria and Zimbabwe will enter the game looking to secure all three points.
