Nigeria’s Falconets will face Colombia in the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after their impressive victory over England, Footynaija reports.
The match will be played at Stadion Miejski ŁKS in Łódź, Poland, on Sunday, 20 September, with kick-off at 6:30pm Nigerian time.
Nigeria reached the last eight with a 3-0 win over England on Thursday. Tosin Rafiu gave the Falconets an early lead in the eighth minute before Seimeyeha Janet Akekoromowei and Mary Mamudu scored after the break.

The result continued Nigeria’s recovery from a difficult start to the tournament. The Falconets lost 2-0 to Spain in their opening Group F match before drawing 0-0 with China.
They then produced one of the biggest wins of the competition, beating New Caledonia 10-1 to finish second in the group.
Colombia booked their place in the quarter-finals with a narrow 1-0 win over hosts Poland. The decisive goal came late in the match when Poland defender Martyna Bartczak scored an own goal.
Sunday’s game will be the first meeting between Nigeria and Colombia at the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The Falconets will also be looking to add another chapter to their strong record in the competition. Nigeria have appeared at every edition since 2002 and have reached the final twice, finishing runners-up in 2010 and 2014. They also made the semi-finals in 2012.
Colombia have reached this stage in each of the last three editions, including quarter-final appearances in 2022 and 2024.
Victory on Sunday would send Nigeria into the semi-finals, where they would meet either defending champions North Korea or Canada on 23 September.
