Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has declared himself ready for the new season ahead of Udinese’s opening game of the new Serie A campaign, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian was speaking during the official presentation of Udinese’s 26/27 squad at Parco Moretti, where he addressed supporters ahead of the club’s upcoming campaign in Italy’s top flight.
Okoye believes the hard work put in during pre-season has left the team well prepared for the challenges ahead, with the goalkeeper also setting his sights on helping Udinese achieve their objectives.

“We’re ready. We’ve worked so hard over the past few weeks, and we’re all pumped up for the start of the season,” Okoye said, as quoted by Tuttoudinese.
“We have our goals, and we want to try to achieve them. Personally, I want to give everything for Udinese, for the team, and for our fans.”
The 26-year-old will once again be expected to play an important role between the posts, but Udinese’s goalkeeping department has also undergone some changes ahead of the new campaign.
Okoye welcomed the opportunity to work alongside Edoardo Piana and experienced goalkeeper Daniele Padelli, praising the qualities both players bring to the squad.

“We’re in good hands. Piana is a young goalkeeper and has great talent. Then we have Padelli, who brings a lot of quality but, above all, immense experience. I’m excited to see how the boys develop,” he said.
With the new Serie A campaign approaching, Okoye will now be looking to turn another productive pre-season into strong performances when the 26/27 Italian top-flight season gets underway.
Udinese will kick off their campaign at home to Como on Saturday, August 22, as the Bianconeri look to begin the new season with a positive result in front of their supporters at the Bluenergy Stadium.
