Super Eagles forward Yira Sor has opened up on his slow start to life at Turkish Super Lig newcomers Amedspor, Footynaija.com reports.
The 26-year-old joined Amedspor from Belgian club KRC Genk in a €3 million deal this summer, signing a three-year contract after bringing an end to his three-and-a-half-year spell in Belgium.
Sor has already featured twice for his new club but is yet to score or provide an assist. Despite this, the Nigeria international is staying calm and confident that his attacking contributions will come.

“I am gradually settling into life in the city and I like it already, and soon, the goals and assists will come surely,” Sor told Footy-Africa.
“Moving to a new country and a new league is usually not easy for any player, but I have been made to feel at home and welcome here, both by the fans and the management of the club.
“It is still early days but I am sure that I will succeed here and make the fans smile. They should expect good things from me. Hopefully the goals and assists to help my team do well will come. I am confident about that.”
Sor’s move to Amedspor represents an opportunity to revive his career after injuries disrupted his progress at Genk and limited his opportunities towards the end of his spell in Belgium.
He made his Super Eagles debut in March and will now be hoping regular football in Turkey can help him stay on the radar of Nigeria’s senior national team head coach Eric Chelle.
At the moment, Sor is fully aware that he has yet to make the desired impact in front of goal, but the Nigerian forward believes it is only a matter of time before he begins to come up with the goods for Amedspor.
