The 19-year-old Zalaegerszegi TE of Hungary centre-back has emerged as one of the most impressive young defenders outside Europe’s traditional elite leagues after an eye-catching breakthrough campaign in Hungary.
Reports suggest Rangers are already in discussions over a possible transfer as they look to strengthen their defence ahead of next season’s Scottish Premiership title challenge.
Standing at 6ft 5in, Victory has built a reputation for his commanding aerial ability, calmness in possession and strong positional awareness. The Nigerian youngster has made 15 senior appearances this season and scored once, performances that have reportedly attracted scouts from clubs in Germany, Spain and France.
Portuguese heavyweights Benfica are also understood to have made an approach for the defender, creating a growing battle for one of Nigeria’s most promising young exports. Rangers, however, are believed to be leading the pursuit and are close to preparing an official offer for the player, whose valuation is believed to be around £4.5m.
Victory remains under contract with Zalaegerszegi until 2028, with the Hungarian club also holding the option of an additional year. That strong contractual position means any interested side will likely have to pay a significant fee to secure his signature this summer.
