Victor Osimhen goes into Sunday’s Istanbul derby knowing that far more than a Süper Lig title is riding on the next 90 minutes, Footynaija.com reports.
The Super Eagles striker is expected to lead Galatasaray’s attack against fierce rivals Fenerbahçe at Rams Park in a fixture that doubles as one of the most consequential individual auditions of his career.
Only four points separate the two sides heading into the clash, with Galatasaray sitting top on 71 points and Fenerbahçe breathing down their necks in second on 67.
A win for Okan Buruk’s side would push them to the brink of a fourth consecutive league title. This fixture, however, has produced a subplot that goes beyond domestic bragging rights.

According to reports by Nevzat Dindar of Milliyet, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Juventus have all made scouting reservations at Rams Park, with Osimhen identified as their primary focus alongside Galatasaray teammates Barış Alper Yılmaz and Gabriel Sara.
The convergence of five of Europe’s biggest clubs at a single fixture is a statement about where the 27-year-old Nigerian stands in the pecking order of the world’s most wanted strikers.
Madrid’s interest is understood to be influenced by a specific tactical gap. Since Karim Benzema’s departure, the club has lacked a recognised central striker, and Osimhen’s profile as a classic number nine would allow Kylian Mbappé to operate from his preferred left-sided position.
Galatasaray completed his permanent signing from Napoli last July in a deal worth €75 million and have since structured a series of creative commercial agreements to reduce his salary burden, a proof that they have no intention of selling easily.
Any club looking to prise him away will need to table an offer north of €100 million, an amount that narrows the field but does not appear to be deterring the clubs that have sent representatives to Istanbul this weekend.
