Real Madrid’s interest in Victor Osimhen is becoming increasingly serious, with scouts closely monitoring the striker during Galatasaray’s high-profile Champions League meetings with Liverpool, Footynaija reports.
According to Galatasaray insider Ali Naci Küçük, representatives from the Spanish club were present both in Istanbul and at Anfield, as they make a deliberate effort to assess the Nigeria international in demanding situations. Their presence at two of the biggest venues in European football shows how highly Osimhen is being rated as Madrid weigh up their next attacking signing.
The return leg at Anfield offered a dramatic test of the forward’s character. Osimhen suffered a fractured arm early in the match following a collision but continued playing until half-time before being substituted. Despite struggling to influence the game as Galatasaray lost 4-0, his determination left a strong impression.
“The guy played for 40 minutes with a broken arm,” Küçük said as per Habersarikirmizi. “Of course he’ll play when he’s being watched by Real Madrid from the stands, but he gave his all for Galatasaray.
“Real Madrid will sign either Haaland or Osimhen at the end of the season, whether Galatasaray will let Osimhen go is another matter, but he’s a potential candidate.”
Osimhen’s performance in England contrasted with his earlier displays against Liverpool this season. He scored the decisive penalty in a 1-0 group-stage victory and later provided the assist in another narrow win in the first leg of their round-of-16 tie.
Those contributions played a key role in Galatasaray’s progress in the competition and helped elevate his reputation on the European stage.
With Erling Haaland also firmly on Madrid’s radar, the Spanish giants face a significant decision ahead of the summer.
