Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Nathan Tella is reportedly edging closer to a return from injury after spending the last few weeks on the sidelines, Footynaija.com understands.
Tella has been out of action since mid January after suffering an injury to his foot during a Bundesliga game between Bayern Leverkusen and Hoffenheim at the PreZero Arena in Sinsheim, Germany.
The Nigeria international came on as a substitute in the 74th minute but barely lasted six minutes before exiting the game due to the setback as Leverkusen fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat away from home.

Since suffering the injury setback, Tella has missed crucial games for Bayer Leverkusen including matches in the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and the closing rounds of fixtures in UEFA Champions League league phase.
In all, he’s missed twelve games across all competitions, with Die Werkself stringing together a decent run of form in that time, registering seven wins, three draws and two defeats.
Having been out for a considerable number of games, Tella’s situation has left fans wondering when he’ll return to action and according to latest reports coming out of Germany, things are looking positive in that regard.

Kicker recently revealed that the versatile Super Eagles star is nearing a comeback after undergoing intensive rehabilitation and recovery processes over the last few weeks.
However, this weekend’s Bundesliga clash against Freiburg, as well as the mid week Champions League round of 16 tie against Arsenal will come too soon for the 26-year-old attacking midfielder.
Barring further setbacks, Leverkusen expect to have Tella available for next weekend’s crunch Bundesliga clash against defending champions and league leaders Bayern Munich at the Bay Arena.
