KRC Genk are reportedly prepared to cash in on Super Eagles invitee Collins Yira Sor this summer amid increasing uncertainty surrounding Nigerian winger’s long-term future, Footynaija.com reports.
The 25-year-old has found himself on the fringes at Genk this season, struggling to cement a regular place in the starting lineup. With his role in the squad clearly diminishing, a departure is now emerging as a likely outcome for both player and club ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Sor’s contract situation is a key factor driving that possibility. While he remains tied to Genk until 2027, there have been no indications of ongoing discussions over an extension. That has placed the Belgian side in a position where a summer sale could represent the most logical step, allowing them to avoid a potential drop in the winger’s value.

From a financial perspective, the timing also makes sense. Genk invested around €6.5 million to secure Sor’s services three years ago, and with several changes expected within the squad, recouping part of that fee has become an important consideration according to Het Laatste Nieuws.
On the sporting side, the winger has been unable to replicate the form that once made him a highly-rated attacking option. Having slipped down the pecking order, a fresh start elsewhere could provide the platform needed to rediscover his best level.
Despite the absence of concrete links at this stage, Sor’s profile continues to attract attention across Europe. His pace, direct style and previous experience in continental competitions make him an appealing option for clubs seeking attacking depth.

With Genk open to a sale and the Sor’s reduced involvement, all the signs are pointing towards a summer exit. For now though, the winger will be looking to make the most of his time with the Nigeria national team after recently earning his maiden international call-up ahead of friendly matches against Iran and Jordan.
