Trabzonspor’s fast-rising defender Chibuike Nwaiwu has admitted that he dreams of playing for and winning things with the Super Eagles at some point in the future, Footynaija.com reports.
Nwaiwu has settled in nicely at Trabzonspor since joining the Turkish Super Lig club during the January transfer window and his performances have been turning heads across the Nigerian football space ahead of the March international break.
Speaking about the possibility of earning a potential call-up to the Super Eagles, Nwaiwu did not shy away from acknowledging his desire to wear the colours of Nigeria’s senior national team and expressed confidence that his opportunity will come.

“I believe in myself and in God. I know they are watching me regarding the national team. Whether they invite me or not is up to them, but I will continue to work to reach the top,” he said, as quoted by Yenisafak.
“But even if they don’t invite me, I will continue to fight and work hard to reach the top. Every player dreams of winning trophies with their country, and I believe Trabzonspor will provide me with the platform to represent my country at the highest level.”

Nwaiwu is already a crucial figure for Trabzonspor despite only spending just over two months at the Istanbul based club. He has made nine appearances across all competitions, with seven starts in all of his seven Super Lig outings.
The 22-year-old defender has also made significant contributions beyond his defensive responsibilities at the club. He’s scored twice and registered one assist, with each of those contributions securing vital points for Trabzonspor.

I feel more confident tackling this now, thanks to you.
