Super Eagles and Sevilla star Akor Adams drew inspiration from a mix of legends and modern greats while developing his craft as a young striker, Footynaija.com reports.
Adams recently established himself as one of Nigeria’s most important players during the last Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and is currently a central figure for Spanish La Liga outfit Sevilla.
Speaking during a recent interview with Sporty TV, the 25-year-old striker described himself as a traditional number nine and revealed that he modelled his game after the likes of Ronaldo Nazario, Victor Osimhen, Romelu Lukaku and Didier Drogba.

“Personally, there are different kinds of strikers. I am a different kind of striker to Karim Benzema, he is a complete player. He can play as a midfielder and can also play as a striker,” Adams explained.
“I’m not that kind of striker. I’m more like a traditional nine, my job is just inside the box, I know what to do in the box. I used to watch him on YouTube before the games. I watch Ronaldo Nazario because he is a proper number nine.

“When I was much younger, I watched Victor in the national team (U17), because I think in terms of power, pace, and being aggressive, we play the same kind of football.
“I watched Romelu Lukaku because there are some qualities that I have that he has as well. I watch Didier Drogba, so these are the kind of profiles I like.”

Adams’ description of his playing style is one that defines his current role Sevilla where he operates as a focal point in the final third and is charged with the responsibility of providing that ruthless efficiency in the final third.
