Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has labelled Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen a “top-class” player ahead of his side’s UEFA Champions League clash against Galatasaray, Footynaija.com reports.
Guardiola’s Cityzens will welcome the Turkish Super Lig champions to the Etihad later today – Wednesday, January 28th – for their final game of this season’s UCL league phase.
Currently 11th on the league phase standings, City need a win to guarantee automatic qualification into the round of 16 and avoid the extra commitment that comes with finishing in one of those play-off places.
However, they face a tricky opposition in Galatasaray and Guardiola is fully aware of the quality the Turkish giants possess as well as the threat that Osimhen and his teammates can pose.

“The quality they have. Osimhen is a top-class player who has speed and is a top goal scorer. But not just him. There’s Leroy [Sane] and both wingers are so quick, so fast,” the City boss said while speaking at a pre-match press conference.
“Then they have Torreira, Gundo, Lemina and when you look at them individually, they are all experienced players. Galatasaray are one of the biggest clubs and they always have good players.”
Manchester City suffered a shocking 3-1 defeat to Bodo Glimt in their last Champions League outings but have since returned to winning ways after dispatching relegation-threatened Wolves 2-0 in the Premier League.
The Cityzens will now be looking to avoid another slip up in Europe when they face a Galatasaray side that claimed all three points the last time they faced an English opponent, beating Liverpool 1-0 on matchday two.
