UEFA is producing a special documentary on Nigeria and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, one of Africa’s most outstanding footballers of the modern era, Footynaija.com reports.
Reports from Turkey indicate that the European football body has commissioned a film crew to follow Osimhen closely, with the project already underway and set for release later this year or early next.
The decision follows UEFA’s growing recognition of Osimhen’s impact across European football.
The Nigerian forward was recently featured prominently in UEFA’s build-up to last week’s Champions League matches, and he responded in style, scoring a stunning hat-trick in Galatasaray’s 3-0 win over Ajax in Amsterdam.
Osimhen’s record in European competitions speaks volumes: 25 goals in 35 appearances, including 15 in the Champions League and 10 in the Europa League, making him Nigeria’s all-time top scorer in continental club football.
His first goals in the Europa League came for Napoli against Leicester City in 2021, while his maiden Champions League strike arrived in 2019 for Lille against Chelsea.
If the documentary explores Osimhen’s full journey, it will capture one of football’s most inspiring stories: from selling bottled water on the streets of Lagos to winning league titles in Italy and Turkey. The 26-year-old has played for Wolfsburg, Charleroi, Lille, Napoli, and now Galatasaray, collecting accolades at every stop.
From U17 World Cup hero to record-breaking Serie A and Super Lig champion, Victor Osimhen’s rise is a remarkable tale UEFA now wants the world to see.
