Leeds United are exploring a January move for Nigerian forward Christantus Uche, whose difficult spell at Crystal Palace is edging towards an early end, Footynaija.com reports.
The 22-year-old joined Palace on loan from Getafe in the summer, but the deal includes an obligation to buy if he makes 10 competitive starts. As a result, and with Oliver Glasner unconvinced, Uche has not started a single match, leaving the club reluctant to risk triggering the clause.
Rumours circulating around #CPFC that striker Christantus Uche may have his loan cut short due to a lack of game time this season.

Uche was heavily linked with a move to Leeds in the summer and I wouldn’t be surprised if his name comes back up this January #LUFC #CPFC pic.twitter.com/JfEIcNmaIE
Spanish outlet AS reports that Getafe are prepared to take him back in January, and the player, deeply frustrated by his lack of opportunities, is open to returning to La Liga, where he enjoyed an impressive breakthrough last season. Uche hit five goals and seven assists for Getafe.
But Leeds have now been credited with interest in Uche [according to a Caught Offside report] which introduces a new dynamic to the saga.
The Yorkshire club, beaten 2–1 at Aston Villa on Sunday, sit in the relegation zone and urgently need reinforcements.
Christantus Uche is one top name on Leeds United list.

The club has asked Getafe about Uche’s situation several weeks ago, though Leeds has yet to make a bid for the 22-year-old.@TheAthleticFC pic.twitter.com/1kcEnf9U7M
Their attack has lacked depth and variation this season, and Uche’s versatility – capable of playing up front, as a supporting striker, or in attacking midfield – has placed him on their shortlist for the winter window.
Leeds, linked with a move for Uche even in the summer, are expected to target a striker and a wide player in January. With Palace previously holding a €20 million option to buy, Leeds may be able to negotiate a similar path if they decide to formalise their interest.
