Former Super Eagles striker Gambo Mohammed is perplexed by Emmanuel Dennis‘ current status as free agent, insisting the 27-year-old forward possesses too much quality to still be without a club, Footynaija.com reports.
Nottingham Forest terminated Dennis’ contract by mutual consent in August, and the Nigeria international has remained without a club even as the 2025/26 season is well underway.
The former Watford star’s current situation has become a source of concern for Mohammed, who is struggling to believe that a player who should be in his prime at 27 years old cannot find a club to ply his trade.
What Gambo Mohammed said about Emmanuel Dennis

“I really do not understand why he is not playing first-team football or with a club at the moment because he is a very good player,” Mohammed told Footy-Africa.
“There has to be something wrong somewhere or something I am not aware of. A talented player like that should be scoring goals and providing assists, but right now, he has no club.

”Is it a discipline problem? Is it motivation? I really do not understand it, and I wish I had the answers. His style of play is one that many clubs would want, but for some reason, he is still not playing.
“I heard Watford wanted to sign him, but later changed their minds. I hope he can get a club soon as a free agent.”

Dennis joined Nottingham Forest from Watford in the summer of 2022. He endured a disappointing stint at The City Ground and spent most of his time as a Forest player away on equally disappointing loan spells.
That torrid three-year spell on the books at Forest certainly didn’t do his stocks any favours and with the first half of the season already in full swing, Dennis may well have to wait until the January transfer window to sort out his future.
