Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze grabbed his first Premier League goal contribution after supplying the assist for Fulham’s goal in Friday night’s defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, Footynaija.com reports.

Making only his third appearance for Fulham since his summer arrival, and still awaiting a first start under Marco Silva, Chukwueze seized his chance to make an impression from the bench.

With the score goalless after a tense hour, the Nigerian international produced a moment of real quality in the 70th minute, threading a precise throughball into the path of Ryan Sessegnon, who finished emphatically into the roof of the net to give the Cottagers a surprise lead against the run of play.

However, Bournemouth quickly hit back. Antoine Semenyo levelled with a brilliant solo strike before substitute Justin Kluivert turned the contest on its head just six minutes later. Fulham poured forward in search of a late equaliser, but the hosts ruthlessly punished them on the counter in the sixth minute of stoppage time, with Semenyo capping off a sweeping move to seal the points.

While Chukwueze could take pride in his contribution, fellow Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey were unable to make any significant impact on the game despite their best efforts.

The result leaves Fulham in 11th place on the Premier League table with eight points from seven games heading into the international break. The Cottagers’ next league outing will provide a stern test against London rivals Arsenal on October 18.

Meanwhile, Fulham will be hoping the international break passes without incident as all three of their Nigerian stars have been included in head coach Eric Chelle’s latest squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin.
