Nigeria’s Europe-based stars enjoyed another eventful night on Friday, with Paul Onuachu, Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon all making telling contributions for their clubs, Footynaija.com reports.
Onuachu was the headline act in Turkey, powering Trabzonspor to a commanding 4-0 win over Kayserispor.
The striker struck once and set up another, taking his league tally to six goals and moving clear at the top of the Super Lig scoring charts.
His form will raise further questions about his absence from Eric Chelle’s 23-man squad for Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin.
In England, Chukwueze finally enjoyed a breakthrough moment in Fulham colours.
The winger, on loan from AC Milan, came off the bench in the 67th minute against Bournemouth and immediately made an impact.
Within three minutes he slipped a clever ball through to Ryan Sessegnon, who fired Fulham ahead. It was Chukwueze’s first assist for the club, though his side eventually slumped to a 3-1 defeat at Craven Cottage.
Simon also caught the eye in France, helping Paris FC to a 2-0 victory over Lorient.
The Super Eagles winger set up Jean-Philippe Krasso’s goal to seal the win, continuing his impressive start since switching from Nantes in the summer. Simon has now been directly involved in four goals in seven Ligue 1 appearances.
This was really well done. I can tell a lot of thought went into making it clear and user-friendly. Keep up the good work!
