Tanzania head coach Hemed Suleiman has included Nigeria among the top contenders for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations, describing the Super Eagles as one of the most complete sides heading to Morocco, Footynaija.com reports.
With the AFCON 2025 draw placing Tanzania in a tough Group C alongside Nigeria, Tunisia and Uganda, the Taifa Stars boss acknowledged that his team will face some of the toughest tests in African football.
Nigeria, under head coach Eric Chelle, have built a strong reputation in recent months, with attacking talents like Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze leading the charge.

The Super Eagles are unbeaten in competitive games since Chelle’s appointment in early 2025, with their firepower and tactical discipline becoming a talking point across the continent. Their mix of European-based stars and home-grown depth has made them one of the most feared teams ahead of the tournament.
According to CAF Online, Tanzania’s coach admitted that Nigeria and Senegal stand out for their player quality and experience.
“There are many. Nigeria and Senegal have premier African-calibre squads, many playing in top European leagues. Morocco, as host, have organisation, belief, and quality. Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire and Algeria all carry depth and experience,” he said.
He further praised the balance within Nigeria’s team, highlighting their attacking creativity and ability to punish mistakes.
“Nigeria is full of attacking talent and lethal creativity. They punish lapses in concentration,” he added.
Suleiman also spoke about how his side plans to handle their group opponents, noting that each team brings a unique challenge.
“Tunisia is tactically disciplined and difficult to break down, a team that tests your patience. Uganda brings possession-based hunger and fight; their regional rivalry makes that fixture special. We will tailor our approach per game, but without losing our own identity,” he explained.
