Nottingham Forest’s new manager Ange Postecoglou has sent some words of encouragement to Ola Aina as the Super Eagles defender looks to work his way back to full fitness after undergoing a successful surgery on his hamstring, Footynaija.com reports.
Aina needed surgery after pulling his hamstring during a CAF World Cup qualifying match between South Africa and Nigeria at the Free State Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein one week ago.
The 28-year-old Nigeria international recently took to Instangram to share a positive update about his successful surgery, marking the start of a rehabilitation journey which could take up to a couple of months or more.

Confirming Aina’s successful surgery, Postecoglou, who recently took over in the Nottingham Forest dugout following Nuno Espirito Santo’s sacking, has urged the former Torino defender to focus on his rehabilitation as he will have plenty of time to impact the latter stages of the season.
What Ange Postecoglou said
“I was looking forward to working with him, I watched him as an opponent last year and, particularly with the way I like my full-backs to play, he was a perfect fit for it,” he told BBC Sport.
“I know he was excited by the season ahead, back in European football. Sometimes when these things happen early in the year, I said to him that the best part of the season will be there for him so he can make a massive impact when it is most needed.
“His surgery went really well – that’s the first thing ticked. Now he’s got to work hard and rehab, which I’m sure he will, and he’ll stay close to the group.”
Postecoglou had a nightmare start to his reign as Nottingham Forest boss, suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal. He’ll be looking to oversee his first win in charge when his side take on Swansea City in the EFL Cup.
