Fulham manager Marco Silva has remained coy on the possibility of handing Samuel Chukwueze his debut when the Cottagers face Cambridge United in the third round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigeria international joined Fulham from AC Milan on transfer deadline day, seeking a fresh start after a difficult spell in Italy where he struggled to reproduce the form that made him a star at Villarreal.
Since his arrival at Craven Cottage, however, the 26-year-old is still waiting for his first competitive appearance.

Chukwueze was left out of the matchday squad in Fulham’s 1-0 win over Leeds United two weeks ago and watched from the bench as an unused substitute in Saturday’s 3-1 comeback victory over Brentford.
The Nigerian forward alongside fellow deadline day signing Jonah Kusi-Asare will once more be in contention to feature against League Two side Cambridge, but Silva has made it clear there are no guarantees.
“They (the players) have to wait and let’s see what is going to be my decisions,” Silva said in quotes revealed by The Standard.
“I don’t prepare these games to give just one or two players a chance. They have been involved, they have been more time with us already, and naturally they are going to have more minutes because that was the reason why we signed them.
“But as with all the other players, they have to prove their quality as well, and prove that they are ready to start games.”
With Silva expected to rotate his squad, Tuesday’s fixture could provide the perfect opening for Chukwueze to introduce himself to the Craven Cottage faithful.
The Super Eagles winger will be eager to seize any opportunity and make a lasting first impression in Fulham colours.
