Nigeria’s Falconets stormed into the third round of the 2026 U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after sweeping Rwanda aside 4-0 in Ibadan on Saturday, Footynaija.com reports.

The two-time world finalists had already secured a 1-0 win in Kigali during the first leg, and their latest performance at the Lekan Salami Stadium ensured a commanding 5-0 aggregate passage to the next stage.

Nigeria wasted little time stamping their authority. Within 13 minutes, Janet dazzled down the flank, outpacing her marker before cutting the ball back for Precious, who calmly tucked in the opener.

Moments later, the home crowd erupted again as Fatimah’s curling corner kick flew directly into the net, doubling the advantage in style.

The Falconets maintained their grip after the break, with Janet again at the heart of the action. On the hour mark, the forward unleashed a fierce drive from distance that proved too hot for the Rwandan goalkeeper to handle, extending the lead to three.

There was still time for a late flourish as Afolabi, coming off the bench, slotted home in stoppage time to cap a dominant display.

Next up is a tougher test, with the Falconets set to face either Senegal or Algeria in the third round.

With Senegal carrying a two-goal advantage from their first-leg clash, they look the more likely opponents for Nigeria’s next hurdle on the road to Poland 2026.
