Crystal Palace are eyeing a move for Nigeria international Frank Onyeka as manager Oliver Glasner looks to reinforce his midfield ahead of the 2025–26 Premier League season, Footynaija.com reports.

The Eagles, who stunned English football by winning the FA Cup in May before edging Liverpool to lift the FA Community Shield this month, have identified the Brentford man as a strong target.

Onyeka, 27, returned to Brentford this summer after spending last season on loan with Bundesliga side Augsburg. Known for his tireless work rate, the midfielder has also become a regular figure in the Super Eagles set-up, playing every match as Nigeria finished runners-up at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and netting his first international goal against Mozambique later that year.

According to a report by Daily Post Nigeria, Palace are considering a bid in the region of €12 million to bring Onyeka to Selhurst Park. The report notes that Spanish side Valencia have also expressed interest but are understood to value the player at closer to €7 million.

Palace, however, are seen as frontrunners due to their Premier League status and recent domestic triumphs, which have given the club unprecedented momentum.

Onyeka made just two appearances for Brentford during the 2024–25 campaign before heading out on loan, but his top-flight experience makes him an appealing prospect for a Palace side eager to compete on multiple fronts this season.

Palace’s pursuit comes during a summer of change for the South London outfit. Their FA Cup victory over Manchester City in May marked the first major trophy in the club’s history, and their Community Shield success days ago confirmed their status as one of England’s form sides.

With a UEFA Europa Conference League play-off on the horizon later this month, adding depth and quality to their squad has become a priority.
