Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has moved quickly to calm fears over his fitness ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, Footynaija.com reports.
The 29-year-old was forced off injured during Chippa United’s 1-0 defeat to Richards Bay on Tuesday, sparking concerns that he might be sidelined for a crucial international window.
With Maduka Okoye suspended, doubts over Nwabali left Nigeria facing the prospect of entering the qualifiers without both of their top two goalkeepers.
However, Nwabali has since reassured fans by posting a video on Instagram showing himself training with Chippa United.
In the clips, he walked confidently onto the pitch and carried out light catching drills, a clear sign that his setback was not as serious as first feared.

The Nigerian Football Federation had already included him in Eric Chelle’s 23-man squad for the qualifiers, a decision now justified by his quick return to training.
His availability will come as a major boost to the Super Eagles, who are targeting maximum points in the double-header as they push for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Nwabali is expected to feature for Chippa United against Orlando Pirates before travelling to join his national teammates in camp.
He will be available for selection in Nigeria’s fixtures against Rwanda and South Africa.
