Bayer Leverkusen winger Nathan Tella is once again on the radar of English clubs, with multiple Premier League sides tracking his situation ahead of a possible return to England this month, Footynaija.com reports.

Tella, 26, was in action on Friday night as Leverkusen faced Chelsea in a pre-season friendly at Stamford Bridge. The Nigeria international, who helped Leverkusen to their historic Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double in 2023–24, impressed scouts in attendance.

According to a report by TBR Football, Leeds United, Brentford, Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Burnley are amongst the teams keen and were all represented at the game. Nottingham Forest and Leeds United were both closely eyeing Tella during the match at Stamford Bridge, while Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley also sent representatives to monitor him.

Tella’s performance was part of Leverkusen’s continued pre-season schedule under Erik ten Hag, who is reshaping the squad following several high-profile departures this summer, including Florian Wirtz to Liverpool and Granit Xhaka to Sunderland.

With his pace, direct dribbling, and ability to stretch defences, Tella fits the profile of a player Premier League clubs are looking to add before the transfer window closes.

The winger joined Leverkusen from Southampton in August 2023 on a five-year deal reportedly worth around £20 million. Since then, he has made over 50 appearances for the German champions, scoring seven goals. On the international stage, he has two caps for Nigeria since making his debut in November 2023.

Interest in Tella comes at a time when Leverkusen’s attack is evolving after losing key figures from last season’s success. His ability to play on either flank and his proven experience in both the Bundesliga and English football have kept him high on the shortlist for clubs seeking attacking reinforcement.
