Kaye Iyowuna Furo made his senior debut for Club Brugge on Wednesday as the former Belgian champions thrashed Rangers 6-0 in the Champions League play-off second leg, Footynaija.com reports.
Furo Iyowuna is the son of former Nigeria international Furo Iyenemi, who made five appearances for the Super Eagles and won a silver medal at the 2000 African Cup of Nations.
The 18-year-old forward came on in the 68th minute at the Jan Breydel Stadium, with Brugge already cruising towards the group stage following their 3-1 first-leg win in Glasgow. His introduction capped a memorable night for the hosts, who advanced with a dominant 9-1 aggregate scoreline.
The match was effectively settled early. Nicolò Tresoldi opened the scoring inside five minutes before Rangers suffered another blow when Max Aarons was sent off in the eighth minute. Brugge then ran riot, with Hans Vanaken doubling the lead, Joaquin Seys scoring twice, and Aleksandar Stanković and Christos Tzolis also on target.

For Furo, the occasion was significant beyond the scoreline. His debut came just a week after signing a new contract extension that ties him to Brugge until 2027. Though limited to a late cameo, the forward offered glimpses of his promise and received a warm reception from the home crowd.

On the international stage, Furo has represented Belgium at youth level and became provisionally cap-tied in March after appearing in a European U17 Championship qualifier against Finland.
The youngster however remains eligible to play for the Super Eagles.
With his first senior appearance now behind him, Furo will be eager to establish himself further in Carl Hoefkens’ squad this season.
