Torino have officially completed the signing of English-born midfielder Tino Anjorin on a season-long loan from Empoli, with a clause in place to make the transfer permanent next summer for a fee in the region of €5 million, Footynaija.com reports.

Anjorin, 23, impressed during his stint with Empoli last term, registering two goals and three assists across 22 Serie A appearances. Despite his individual flashes of brilliance, Empoli suffered relegation, paving the way for his move to another top-flight Italian side.

A product of Chelsea’s acclaimed academy, Anjorin previously had loan spells at Huddersfield Town and Portsmouth before departing Stamford Bridge permanently for Empoli in 2024.

As part of that transfer, Chelsea negotiated a sell-on clause that now sees them receive 40% of Torino’s payment — roughly €2 million of the total fee.

Although registered as a loan deal, the agreement includes straightforward conditions that all but guarantee a full transfer by the end of the 2025–26 campaign. Once finalised, Anjorin will be contracted to the Turin-based club until 2028, with an option to extend by a further year.

The midfielder joins alongside Empoli teammate Ardian Ismajli, who arrived at Torino as a free agent following the expiry of his contract.

Eligible to represent Nigeria at international level, his growing presence in Italy could also fastforward his appearance for the Super Eagles.

The young attacking midfielder is admired by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who believes he has the quality to make an impact for the three-time African champions.
