Former Super Eagles midfielder Mutiu Adepoju has weighed in on Victor Osimhen’s transfer saga, revealing which club between Juventus and Galatasaray would be the ideal landing spot for the former African Footballer of the Year after a summer of relentless speculations, Footynaija.com reports.
The masked 26-year-old striker produced a stellar season-long campaign at Galatasaray last season to help the Lions of RAMS Park to a domestic double. As a result of his exploits in Istanbul, many believed the big boys of Europe would be falling over themselves to snap up his signature this summer with Serie A’s Juventus reported to be very keen.
However, Osimhen appears primed for a return to the Turkish capital where he spent last season on loan with Super Lig champions Galatasaray despite being linked with a move to virtually every big club across all of Europe’s top five leagues for much of the ongoing summer transfer window.
As per reports, the Nigeria international has already agreed personal terms with the Turkish champions who are ready to meet Napoli’s €75 million asking price. That figure proved to be a major stumbling block for Juve, with the Old Lady reluctant to fork out such an amount.
For Adepoju, Juventus would’ve been an ideal destination for Osimhen this summer, but given their inability to meet the transfer requirements, the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner believes a return to RAMS Park is the best option.
What Mutiu Adepoju said about Victor Osimhen’s next destination

“I think in my own opinion, I would have loved him to move to Juventus, but if they cannot match his salary and the transfer fee that Napoli is asking for, then I think he should stay back at Galatasaray,” Adepoju said in an exclusive interview with Footy Africa.
“He has done well with the club and even won the league with them, so if Juventus cannot give what Napoli wants, then he should join Galatasaray. The fans there love him, and he has spent a year there with a lot of success.
“I think he should continue there and have more success. He is a good player and with Galatasaray, I believe they will also love to have him back. Once they can reach an agreement, he should join them, in my opinion.”

Osimhen’s future is widely expected to be sorted in the coming days and all indications currently point towards a return to Galatasaray, where he has already attained legendary status thanks to last season’s heroics.
