“It’s a shame” – Super Eagles’ Iwobi opens up on Fulham’s dressing room social media ban
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has revealed that his popular behind-the-scenes content from the Fulham dressing room will no longer be available to fans, Footynaija.com reports.

Iwobi is widely known for his infectious personality and lively off-the-pitch presence and he has built a strong following on Snapchat, where he regularly shares fun moments with teammates before and after matches.

However, the midfielder now says that the club has stepped in to restrict such content. While Iwobi’s clips are often spontaneous and humorous, offering a glimpse into the camaraderie and banter inside the Fulham squad, the Nigeria international now finds himself having to toe the line.

Fulham’s concerns appear to stem from fears that the content may not always capture the right tone or moments for public consumption and Iwobi himself admitted that he has been warned about not “capturing the right snaps.”

“Also, for those wondering why there hasn’t been BTS (Behind the Scenes) in the dressing room, there’s a person in the media team that has been saying I haven’t been capturing the right snaps,” Iwobi explained in a video posted on social media.

“So, there’s no more BTS content. They also said I might get fined if I continue to do so. They’re trying to ban Snapchat in our changing room, so that’s why I stopped posting.

“It’s a shame. I know you guys enjoy seeing what my teammates and I are like behind the scenes, but I have to respect the rules.”

While fans may no longer have access to the dressing room life of Marco Silva’s squad via Iwobi’s point of view, they can continue to enjoy the former Arsenal man’s show on the Cottagers’ official YouTube channel which he hosts alongside Super Eagles teammate Calvin Bassey.
