Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray are weighing a move for Nigerian international Maduka Okoye, Footynaija.com reports.
Galatasaray’s interest is kindled even as Super Eagles goalkeeper Okoye finds himself at the centre of a potential transfer and a growing controversy in Italy.
Okoye, 25, has enjoyed a resurgence at Udinese following a difficult stint in England with Watford.
Since joining the Serie A side in 2023, he has established himself as their No. 1, registering ten clean sheets in 48 appearances and earning plaudits for his commanding presence between the posts.

Galatasaray are now believed to view Okoye as a long-term replacement for club legend Fernando Muslera, who exited the Istanbul side at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Talks have reportedly begun between the Turkish giants and Udinese, with Okoye’s price set at €15 million (roughly ₦27 billion), according to Calcio Udinese.
However, the potential transfer comes against the backdrop of an alleged betting scandal involving the Nigerian goalkeeper.
Italian authorities are reportedly investigating Okoye’s booking during Udinese’s clash with Lazio on March 11, 2024, as part of a wider probe into possible betting irregularities.
No formal charges have been filed, and Okoye remains free to play. Nevertheless, the ongoing inquiry could complicate negotiations, with Galatasaray understood to be monitoring the situation closely before making a formal offer.
