Manchester United, Everton and Al-Hilal are set to go head-to-head for Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who is available for a cut-price £9 million following the Foxes’ relegation, Footynaija.com reports.

The Nigerian international, once likened to N’Golo Kanté for his tireless midfield work and ball-winning brilliance, has emerged as a key target for United boss Ruben Amorim as he begins reshaping the squad.

With over 220 Premier League appearances and a reputation for defensive steel, Ndidi presents a low-risk, high-value option in a market plagued by inflated prices.

According to transfer insider Ben Jacobs via The United Stand, Everton and Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal are also monitoring the 28-year-old.

However, it is United who are believed to be leading the race, with Amorim keen to inject energy and defensive balance into his midfield amid the expected exits of Christian Eriksen and a potential reshuffle around Casemiro.

Ndidi’s profile fits perfectly with Amorim’s high-pressing philosophy. His stamina, positional awareness, and ability to break up play could address the weaknesses that plagued United during defensive transitions last season.

Everton boss David Moyes is also pushing for the move as he looks to build a robust spine, while Al-Hilal may attempt to lure Ndidi with a lucrative package. Still, sources suggest the player prefers to remain in Europe and would welcome a move to Old Trafford.

In a summer where value-for-money signings are crucial, Wilfred Ndidi at £9m could prove to be one of the bargains of the window — if United move swiftly.
