Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman is facing a race against time to be available for Atalanta crucial Serie A match against fellow Champions League qualification hopefuls Roma on Monday, May 12, Footynaija.com reports.
Lookman was forced to train separately on Friday ahead of La Dea’s trip to the Italian capital city of Rome, where they will be looking to secure all three points against the Giallorossi and strengthen their chances of a top four finish.
According to Italian news outlet Tutto Mercato Web, the Nigeria international trained individually due to inflammation in his right Achilles tendon. While the issue doesn’t appear to be serious, the decision was made as a precaution.
Lookman will undergo further evaluation tomorrow, but his availability for the potential Champions League qualification decider against Roma remains uncertain.

The 27-year-old recently snapped a six-game goal drought by scoring against Monza, having previously failed to find the back of the net in matches against Inter Milan, Fiorentina, Lazio, AC Milan, Bologna, and Lecce.
Despite that somewhat lengthy halt in his productivity in front of goal, the former RB Leipzig star remains one of the attackers with the best attacking returns in Serie A this season with a tally of 19 goals and 6 assists in 38 appearances so far.

With three games left to play this season, third placed Atalanta hold a five points gap over Juventus, Roma and Lazio who occupy 4th, 5th and 6th places on the Serie A standings respectively.
The Nerazzurri will know that they are far from home and dry in the race to seal a top four finish and they will be hoping Lookman can shake off his issues and continue to contribute for the rest of the season.
