Former Fenerbahce defender Esref Selim Soydan has picked the better goalscorer between two of the Turkish Super Lig’s most talented center forwards Victor Osimhen and Youssef En-Nesyri, Footynaija.com reports.
Both Osimhen and En-Nesyri are two of the best currently active African strikers in Europe. Osimhen has played at the highest level with Italian side Napoli, firing the Partenopei to their first Scudetto in 33 years back in 2023.
Meanwhile, En-Nesyri has also established himself as a force to reckon with in the striking department, having built a reputation as a reliable goalscorer during a nine-year stint with La Liga clubs Malaga, Leganes and Sevilla.
Osimhen and En-Nesyri now find themselves in the Turkish Super Lig, having joined from Napoli and Sevilla last summer albeit each singing for arch rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce respectively.

Both players have had tremendous goal-scoring impacts for their respective teams with Osimhen bagging 28 goals and 5 assists in 32 appearances while En-Nesyri has notched 26 goals and the same number of assists in 44 appearances.
Despite the apparent closeness of their respective numbers, Osimhen’s tally of 20 goals in 23 Super Lig games gives him a better goal per minute ratio when compared to En-Nesyri’s 16 goals in 26 games.
Selim Soydan’s Verdict

Giving his take on the two strikers, Soydan, who won four Turkish Championships with Fenerbahce, picked Osimhen as the better of the two strikers and faulted Jose Mourinho’s decision to keep En-Nesyri beyond the winter window despite recieving a decent offer.
“If Fenerbahçe cannot become champions, it will not be because of Jose Mourinho. If Galatasaray will become champions, it will be because of Okan Buruk and Victor Osimhen,” the 84-year-old said in quotes revealed by habersarikirmizi.com.
“This squad and these players were not given to anyone. Galatasaray has stars like Davinson Sanchez, Torreira, Osimhen. Mourinho wanted the wrong names.
“There was an offer of 30 million Euros for En-Nesyri, but they did not sell him. If it were me, I would sell him. He is not as good a goal scorer as Victor Osimhen.”
After falling short in the Europa League earlier this year, Osimhen and Galatasaray will be eyeing a domestic double as they hold a three-point gap at the Super Lig summit and are into the semifinals of the Turkiye Kupasi.
