Nigeria international Moses Simon is likely to leave FC Nantes this summer, with the Ligue 1 side already identifying Brighton winger Simon Adingra as a potential replacement, Footynaija.com reports.

Simon, 29, is entering the final year of his contract, and Nantes are reportedly bracing for his departure at the end of the 2024/25 season. The Super Eagles forward has been instrumental for the club this term, registering seven goals and nine assists across all competitions.

Having joined Nantes from Levante in 2019, Simon has gone on to make 191 appearances, scoring 35 goals and contributing 38 assists. His consistent performances have caught the attention of top clubs, with Serie A giants AS Roma reportedly among those keen to secure his services. Ligue 1 rivals OGC Nice — home to fellow Nigerian Terem Moffi — and Olympique Marseille are also monitoring his situation.

Nantes are expected to demand between €10m and €15m for Simon, whose exit would leave a considerable gap in the squad.

To fill that void, the Canaries are targeting Brighton and Hove Albion’s Simon Adingra as per HdM.

The Ivorian winger, who has struggled for regular minutes in the Premier League, could be open to a move back to France in search of more playing time.

Manager Antoine Kombouaré — who is expected to remain in charge next season — is said to have endorsed Adingra as a suitable replacement.

However, the 22-year-old’s estimated €30m valuation, according to Transfermarkt, could pose a financial challenge for the French club.

Nantes will now weigh up their options as they prepare for life after Moses Simon, a player who has become a fan favourite at the Stade de la Beaujoire.
