Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has revealed a growing admiration for Paris Saint-Germain following the French club’s commanding 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in the Champions League quarter-final first leg, Footynaija.com reports.
It’s been a dramatic week in the UEFA Champions League, with some standout results in the first-leg ties.
On Tuesday night, Arsenal lit up the Emirates Stadium, storming to a convincing 3-0 win against defending champions Real Madrid.
That same evening, Inter Milan secured the only away victory of the round, edging Bayern Munich 2-1 in a tense contest in Germany.
A day later, Barcelona brushed aside Borussia Dortmund with an emphatic 4-0 win — an especially notable result for Oliseh, who once played for the Bundesliga club.
Later that evening in Paris, PSG bounced back from an early Morgan Rodgers goal to sweep Aston Villa aside with strikes from Désiré Doué, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Nuno Mendes.
Luis Enrique’s men were in full control from start to finish. The Ligue 1 giants enjoyed 75% possession, registered 18 shots to Villa’s six, and earned nine corners compared to just one from the visitors. Only the heroics of Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez — who made eight saves — kept the scoreline respectable.

The performance left Oliseh full of praise for PSG’s rising stars and their manager.
Taking to social media, the former Nigeria international wrote: “This PSG side is gradually becoming one of my favourite teams to watch! Talented and upcoming young superstars in my opinion. Bravo Luis Enrique for the hardwork.”
PSG have been one of the most impressive teams in this season’s revamped Champions League format.
After doing their bit to qualify past the first-stage group ahead of Manchester City, they knocked out Liverpool in the last 16, recovering from a first-leg home defeat to win at Anfield and progress on penalties.
Now, with a two-goal cushion over Aston Villa, PSG will feel confident about sealing a spot in the semi-finals as their European dream gathers momentum.
