Zimbabwe senior national team head coach Michael Nees has warned that the Warriors will “give everything” ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Nigeria, Footynaija.com reports.

Nees’ Warriors are desperate for maximum points in these two fixtures as they currently sit rock-bottom of qualifying group C, having endured a terrible run of one draw and three defeats in their first four games.

The Southern Africans are due to face Benin by 5:00 PM today before traveling down west to take on Nigeria at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday, March 25.

Speaking ahead of these crucial fixtures, Nees made it clear to reporters that his team will go all out for a victory as they aim to turn their disappointing campaign around.

“Two difficult games, first against Benin and then Nigeria, when you consider the results and analyse the opponents,” he said as quoted by Soccer24.

“Benin have a good quality, while Nigeria, we don’t need to talk about it, but we have to take it with positivity and self-confidence, and give everything in our power to deliver a good performance in both games.

“We have to restart this qualification in a positive way. We want to do that, to get the positive mood going, and to do everything in our power. Power to turn the table a little bit around, turn the page and move up.

“That’s our approach. And now we have to look at what is the next task at hand. The next task at hand is a difficult game against Benin.”

Having secured a 1-1 draw against the Super Eagles in their last meeting, the Warriors will once again fancy their chances when they rock up to Uyo next week.
