European football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United’s summer pursuit of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen could hinge on two crucial factors, Footynaija.com reports.
Osimhen became one of the most sought-after center-forwards in Europe, following his Scudetto exploits with Napoli in 2022. His current form at Galatasaray, where he now plays on loan, means that interest in his signature has only continued to soar.
Since moving to Istanbul last summer, the Nigerian hitman has been on fire. He has notched twenty goals and registered five assists in twenty-eight appearances across all competitions.

With the 26-year-old forward bound to secure a permanent move away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium at the end of the season, several top clubs all around Europe are reported to be keenly monitoring his situation.
One of those clubs happens to be Manchester United, whose long-standing interest in Osimhen is steadily becoming concrete. However, it appears United’s approach for the Nigerian will depend on two crucial factors.
As revealed by Romano via his YouTube channel, the Red Devils’ financial capacity and their presence or absence from continental competitions will, to a large extent, determine the calibre of players they can bring onboard.
“But for Manchester United. I say that for Osimhen and Gyokores. It depends on the budget. How much they can invest, and spend, and what happens with European football.
“So that’s really important to know what’s happening with Manchester United in terms of summer spending, and Amorim has been very clear – sell players to bring in new players.”
How Manchester United can remain an attractive destination for Osimhen
Manchester United, who currently sit 15th in the Premier League, are still in the Europa League where they are due to host Real Sociedad at Old Trafford in a Round of 16 second-leg tie after playing out a 1-1 draw in Spain.
If the Red Devils can manage to secure victory against Sociedad and then go all the way in the Europa League, they can guarantee a place in next season’s Champions League group stage and earn significant financial rewards.
Such a close to their largely turbulent campaign will ensure Manchester United can attract a big name like Osimhen and afford the significant sum his signature would require.
