Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored Galatasaray’s two goals as the Turkish Super Lig leaders battled to a narrow 2-1 victory over Caykur Rizespor at the Caykur Didi Stadyumu, Footynaija.com reports.
Osimhen, who has been in scintillating form since joining the Turkish giants last summer, hit his fourth Super Lig brace of the season to ensure they maintain their six-point gap over Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce at the summit of the Super Lig table.
The Nigerian hitman grabbed his first goal of the game just two minutes into the second half of the game. He rose highest to nod in a cross from Przemyslaw Frankowski, giving Galatasaray a much deserved 1-0 lead in the 47th minute.

Rizespor responded with a goal of their own in the 54th minute when Ali Sowe turned in David Akintola’s cross with a right-footed shot into the bottom corner. However, it was the Osimhen who would eventually have the final say in the closely contested tie.
With just four minutes of normal time left to play, Galatasaray won themselves a corner after Mario Lemina’s missed attempt on goal. Lemina took the resulting corner-kick with Osimhen once more, rising highest to meet the cross and win the game for the Turkish champions.
The home side pushed and probed for an equalizer in the dying embers but Osimhen’s Galatasaray were able to weather the storm as they held on to run out 2-1 winners on the night.
