Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has been confirmed as one of the most creative players in Europe’s elite football leagues in 2024, Soccernet.football reports.

According to statistics compiled by renowned analytics platform WhoScored, the Fulham midfielder created an impressive 67 chances from open play in the Premier League, placing him third among players in Europe’s top five leagues.

Chelsea’s emerging star Cole Palmer topped the list with 79 chances created, closely followed by Arsenal’s influential captain Martin Ødegaard, who registered 76.

Completing the top five are Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes and Liverpool’s dynamic forward Luis Díaz, each creating 66 chances. Interestingly, Premier League players dominated the continent’s top five spots.

Iwobi appearance on the top creators list is a testament to his exceptional contribution to Fulham’s campaign.

Operating as a key figure for the London side, the Hale End Academy graduate has showed his versatility across multiple positions, including left wing, right wing, central midfield, attacking midfield, and right midfield.

With Fulham sitting eighth in the Premier League table, six points shy of Champions League qualification, Iwobi’s performances have been pivotal.

His ability to deliver from the flanks or control the tempo in midfield has made him indispensable.

The 27-year-old has also proved decisive in front of goal, either scoring or assisting against seven teams this season, including Leicester City, Newcastle United, Everton, Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Iwobi’s creativity and work rate have not gone unnoticed. His ability to thrive against some of the league’s toughest opponents confirms his status as one of the most reliable attacking outlets in England. As Fulham aim to push further up the table, Iwobi’s form will remain crucial to their ambitions.
